Boulangerie Utopie - Erwan Blanche and Sebastien Bruno @boulangerieutopie

The Boulangerie Utopie bakery and pastry shop is the story of two good friends who met at the renowned Ferrandi School of Gastronomy in Paris. After receiving their diplomas, Erwan Blanche and Sébastien Bruno worked for years at the famous Ladurée pastry shop. Seeing that there was no other place in Paris where they could offer high-quality and affordable artisan pastries and confectionery in one place, they opened their bakery and confectionery in the 11th arrondissement of the French capital in 2015. The emphasis is on craftsmanship, with everything 100% homemade. The bakery is known for its brioches, bread assortment, puff pastry rolls, and special flavoured desserts. The real star product is their sourdough croissant, considered by many to be the best in town. Less than a year after opening, the bakery was voted the best in the country by a professional programme on French television M6. Utopie's success has been uninterrupted ever since: in 2020, a book of 80 recipes was published, and in 2022, the Ferrandi school was represented at the Taste of Paris gastronomic festival with a plated dessert of Boulangerie Utopie. 

Their speciality is the use of black sesame seeds, which they have come to know and love during their travels in Asia and which are the main ingredient of several of their popular cakes. Sébastien will come to Budapest to introduce you to the world of Utopie through the creation of some of their iconic recipes.
